Al Bireh – within the context of the Municipal Development Program (MDP) implementations, MDLF Director General Eng. Abdel Mughni Nofal signed a contract with a Jordanian consultancy firm to provide development assistance and auditing for Energy Efficiency project within window 2 of the MDP, which supports pioneer initiatives for Palestinian municipalities, with an amount of 40 million Euros. 

MDLF will work in cooperation with the consultancy firm to implement a pioneer study regarding the Energy Efficiency as a pilot project, which is funded by the World Bank with an amount around (700 thousands USD dollars).
According to that, four municipalities from West Bank where selected based on a specific criteria and mechanisms, including Hebron, Qalqilia, Anabta and Jericho municipalities, as the study will cover three sectors concerning energy efficiency that include street lightning, water pumps and public facilities.

It is worth mentioning, that MDLF conducted a workshop concerning Energy Efficiency with the participation of engineers from the four municipalities and MDLF crew, where technical issues were presented.
